Ra mắt không lâu sau ATS v1.4.1.2s, American Truck Simulator phiên bản 1.5.1.2s cập nhật thêm nhiều điểm mới, ví dụ như thêm thành phố mới: Santa Maria, đặc biệt là bản đồ đã được "rescale", làm lại tỷ lệ. Điều đó khiến cho bản đồ rộng hơn 1.75 lần trước đây. Cập nhật nhủ yếu ở phiên bản này là làm lại bản đồ.
Điểm mặt một số tính năng trong phiên bản này như sau:
Zoom ở trong cabin. Khi ở trong cabin, ta thiết lập 1 phím tắt để khi nhấn phím đó thì camera sẽ zoom lại gần hơn, khi thả ra thì nó sẽ trở lại vị trí cũ.
Điều chỉnh vị trí Vô lăng. Bạn có thể điều chỉnh vị trí vô lăng cao thấp xa gần tùy ý. Vô lăng gật gù, chỉnh điện 4 hướng 
Tùy chọn loại volante và thêm thiết lập về núm xoay vô lăng.
Bên cạnh đó thì bạn cũng có thể tự do lựa chọn giao diện trailer. Tức là khi đã nhận việc, đến trước cổng công ty, bạn có thể chọn để thay đổi loại trailer mà bạn thích.
